La directora escénica alemana Ana Zirner, de la Folkwang Universität der Künste, es la protagonista este miércoles de la primera de las dos representaciones en el Teatro Barakaldo de la novena edición del Festival Internacional de Nuevos Creadores Escénicos ACT que organiza la escuela de teatro de Barakaldo BAI. El montaje 'Bahar and Omid = spring and hope', con la actuación de Veronika Bachfischer y Gabriel Rodríguez, utiliza textos originales recogidos en Irán en 2011 durante el periodio de revueltas ciudadanas. Sobre el escenario, dos jóvenes actores representan las historias de los hermanos iraníes Bahar y Omid, que luchan por sus derechos —entre la criminalización de Occidente hacia lo musulmán y la represión del régimen chií—, y las contrastan con sus propias vidas en Alemania "entre la represión y la esperanza".

Desde aquí solo alcanzamos a vislumbrar la fuerza de los jóvenes que luchan por sus derechos a tan solo unas horas de distancia. Dos jóvenes actores alemanes se enfrentan a una vida entre la represión y la esperanza, compartiendo escenario con un músico de jazz iraní. Over here we only catch a glimpse of the power of young people fighting for their rights only a few hours away. We are spectators of blurred cellphone video footage at best, while for other people the world is changing.
Two young german actors represent the stories of the iranian brother and sister Bahar and Omid and confront themselves with a life between repression and hope. They share the stage with the iranian jazz musician Amir Nasr.
All the texts were documented in Tehran in June of 2011. They were then translated and transcribed without revision. We started the rehearsals with 120 pages of material. It was a collective process to chose the texts used on stage.
"I feel lonely. On one side there is the world, I mean, Europe and the USA, they think we are all terrorists and uncivilized, and on the other side there is this government where we can’t even say what we want, that prohibit us to have our own opinion.” (Bahar, 24, Tehran)
